If you dare to complain about the poor quality of your tap water, you better expect a visit from Homeland Security. Because after all, as a water official has now verified on record, complaining about your tap water can be an act of terrorism

Concerned about the high levels of arsenic in your water, or perhaps the known levels of radioactive contamination? Well you must be a terrorist, according to the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) and Homeland Security, who consider issuing such complaints to be classified under terrorist activity.

It all started when Tennessee residents in Maury County recorded an exchange with the deputy director from the state’s environmental entity TDEC, who issued a warning that complaining about low quality tap water could put you in Guantanamo. As you can hear from the video below, deputy director Sherwin Smith explains to a group of residents that issuing a complaint over the water supply can be considered an act of terrorism by Homeland Security.

According to Smith, you better make sure your claims can be verified by the water department employees before submitting them. In the video recording, which was posted following the outrage from citizens over the entire event, Smith is heard saying:

“But you need to make sure that when you make water quality complaints you have a basis, because federally, if there’s no water quality issues, that can be considered under Homeland Security an act of terrorism.”

The group responsible for the recording, called ‘Community eMpowerment’, ended up spotlighting their work on The Tennessean publication — an article that has now gone to be picked up by USA Today and others. And for good reason. The video highlights the growing nature of the Big Brother system that has engulfed the United States over the past several years through the enactment of unconstitutional legislation like the Patriot Act/FISA, the NDAA, and of course the establishment of a 100 mile wide Constitution-free zone by DHS that runs along the entire border of the US.

The assertion made by this man in the video is simply a byproduct of this system, which labels virtually all law-abiding citizens as terrorists. It’s also a byproduct of the lazy bureaucratic system that would rather throw around the label of ‘terrorist’ against those who seek to issue complaints in order to avoid actual work. In the past, we’ve seen 400 pound union heads get paid $156,000 a year to sleep and eat for a few hours a day at ‘work’, and this is the kind of corruption that goes on all over the place.

The bottom line? No matter what you do, think, or even say, it’s likely that the DHS has a way to classify it as a terrorist act — even complaining about the poor quality of your tap water.

We don't drink our cities tap water……guess that's all I can say about that.

    • Neither do I, in fact I recommend everyone get at least some kind of filter, but the bottom line is we shouldn't have to be purchasing expensive filters to drink tap water. Then again, we must be terrorists.

      • He def was using a scare tactic – if you make a legitimate concern known – not being a wack job reporting just to do so – there is no way you can be considered a terrorist.

The local municipalities report out the drinking water reports every year in NY and send them to the residents. There is also a website you can type in your zip code and find out the history of your drinking water by municipality. Let me see if I can find it again…

      • Guest says:

The problem is that it is hard to get Fluoride out of the water. The mainstream tap water filters don't do it. It says so on the box. You need reverse osmosis. For your kitchen sink it costs about $150 – $250 and up, plus filters.

    • eric says:

Its not the water its the crap they add to it. They are the fing terrorists adding known toxic chemicals to water. Im not poisoning people on purpose THEY are.

  4. Robin Roderick says:

I don't complain, I just 'fix it.' Bought a nice water purification system because I don't like buying the water stored in plastic containers that aren't biodegradable in our landfills. Okay, I'm off my soapbox now.

    • If that's what you want to call it in a "free country" that is supposed "For The People By The People" with evolution and clear evidence into what really is in that water with the EPA signifying what truly is in there and what the chemicals cause. -_-

    • eric says:

Its also absorbed through skin I spent nearly $1k to clean all the water going into the house.

  5. ROB says:

NWO GET USED TO IT,ITS GOING TO COME DOWN TO A FULL REVOLUTION……THE GMO'S WAS JUST THE BEGINNING,THE MARCH AGAINST MONSANTO SHOWED THEM THE WORLD CAN STAND UP,WE NEED ANOTHER RALLY SOON,THE NEW DIVISION OF THE PRE CRIME UNIT IS NOW INACTED THEY CAN ARREST YOU FOR CRIMES YOU DIDNT COMMIT YET,BUT THEY THINK OU WILL,TAKEN AWAY NDER THE PATROIT ACT…20,000 BIYSCOUT TRAINED AS MILITIA.IT JUST GOES ON NON 400,000 MILITARY SPREAD OUT ACROSS THE USA NOW TRAINED IN CIVIL UNREST…………ITS COMING NITS COMING SOON…

    • Vil says:

We can show them all that we want, but our self-appointed masters don’t give a damn. Don’t be deluded into thinking that we can win, because I guarantee you that we can’t stand against militarised police, those parts of the military loyal to the President of the United States, UN Peacekeepers, satellite-guided weapons, and various weapons of mass destruction. If ever a revolution were to get big enough to make them have cause for concern, one major city would be gone, and people would quickly beg for mercy and fall into obedience.

    • aja says:

Well, it's in all caps, so it must be true..

  6. Concerned. says:

Hmmm….so me complaining about how nasty the high levels of chlorine is making my clothes smell after washing and the effect it's having on my skin is a terrorist act? LOL

  7. Interesting….0.0 I complained multiple multiple multiple multiple multiple multiple times in my life online and in person. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm……they're going to have to work their laws to get us scared and if they succeed then I'm not scared. I'll record it happening just to show I have my rights being pulled away. :3 :'( :saves pages:

    • That's the only way to fight corruption, Seth. We can't cower in fear of being branded a 'terrorist', we need to rise and expose this insanity like a spotlight in the dark. Keep up exposing tyranny.

      • Ilana says:

Anthony. Maybe you can help people be proactive and give advise how to rally citizens to get it out of their water. Can't it be voted on? As citizens don't we have the right to decide if something that is not naturally occurring and has no health benefits if consumed (not talking about brushing teeth) be voted on? I think most people are helpless. And there are a lot of people who can't afford reverse osmosis house water filters. Recently I invested in a bath filter for my children, and it's amazing how the water doesn't smell so much (chlorine). But really, I think most people react to this as GMOS – if they have knowledge, and money they avoid it. But what about everyone else?

  8. Lizette says:

Well maybe what can happen or I suppose might be likely if I’m thinking correctly and ohhh pardon me if I make a mistake here, I wouldn’t want to accuse any agency of wrong doing for heaven’s sake BUT, if the amount of toxic chemicals in the water systems gets to high, they could just change the upper limits of what is safe and acceptable for the public to ingest. I highly doubt that would ever happen in this country though right?

  9. dianedraytonbuckland says:

Yes it is absolutely insane that our Governments dump in our water supplies (and hence also polluting our food chain) these dangerously corrosive hazardous waste pollutants fluorosilicic acid/silicofluorides & co-contaminants of lead, mercury, arsenic, cadmium, etc., known as water fluoridation chemicals, plus they also add aluminium sulphate. They truly are insane ! Can you imagine what they would do to anyone else who did something like this?? all on the say so of the Fluoride Lobby ADA, AMA & their pals. Absolutely disgusting and somehow, they must be stopped – but with so much political power and control, how do you clean up that filth?

    • Ilana says:

Right. The ADA is more powerful than I thought. I was disgusted after buying a Brita and PUR filter only to say that it does NOT remove fluoride, as if that was a good thing. And of course the ADA's stamp of approval was on the box. I now feel like I'm living in a 3rd world country – going to my natural health food store with three big gallon bottles and filling up in their filtered water spout – no fluoride through reverse osmosis. At only 49 cents a gallon it's cheaper than Arrowhead or Sparkletts, but the convenience factor is not easy. In Europe they realized long ago that fluoridation is medication and they don't have it. How can the government allow this when many Mom's are using the water for baby formula, and who knows over time how this affects children's health? I am convinced that many cases of osteoporosis are due to fluoride excess. I'd love to see a study of communities that don't artificially fluoridate their water, and their senior populations bone health compared to populations that fluroidate water. I can tell you that living in Europe I never saw elderly people with walkers.

  10. Zach says:

We bought a water purification system as well. Before that, we wouldn't even give our cats or dog water out of the tap here in Indiana. We bought cases of bottled water every month…

But this is just out of hand. I know not everyone can afford to get a water purification system, or if they can, can't get one for every fossett/spicket/spout around their home, or buy enough bottled water for everything in their home, especially when living on a farm or larger area of land. Grrrr… =o/

  11. Deb says:

The powers that be want to scare us to the point we’ll be afraid to perform involuntary bodily functions without a special permit, in my opinion!

  12. My water tastes funny. I think Muslim comedians have been bathing in it…

  13. PATRIOT X says:

Don't physically fight with our government, or those who work for it!!! The soldiers are our brothers and sisters as well no matter how confused they might be at the time. We need to spread out and not be seen, don't go to the "camps" learn to eat off the land , hunt, fish. direct conflict won't work. Run,run, run. I am already doing it as posts like these have labeled me a terrorist. I am no longer a u.s. citizen, but will always be a patriot to my country. The ideas, and morals that this country was found on live in our hearts. We can never let them take those from us. We will rebuild this country after the Hang Men hang themselves.

  14. Joe says:

No, you can’t run from the government, because then you are making it easier for the government. That just means that you are oppressing yourself without the need of government intervention. You need to stand up for yourself and your neighbors and show people that you are not alone. Stand up and pull together. Running only lets the government get stronger and stronger.

The government is insane. Time for a new one? Uphold the constitution and the bill of rights and throw everything else out and we can start over. The independence day march is coming up. Get out there and be heard!

  15. Ok..so I guess we are supposed to be quiet little sheeples, and never complain about poor conditions in our food and water. It seems I read or watch something every day that makes me think we are 'less than' in the eyes of our government. I sometimes wonder why we have elections. It seems like so much pretense because the agenda is the same no matter who is elected. Our rights are disappearing, and the one above mentioned is freedom of speech. A very quiet and very controlled population, theirs for the tweeking, is what the final result will be.

  16. Putting someone in the worst of conditions in reponse to receiving a complaint… does this mean if someone complains about my lawn I can lock them in my basement and whip them mercilessly?

No, it doesn't, and nobody is goin to jail for complaining, especially for *filing* a complaint within the system itself… cuz this, literally, is the final straw of dictatorship in which the people have literally no say… and, its not happening.

  17. Frankly, the DHS can kiss my ass and I'll give them an hour to assemble an audience to watch them do so!

  18. Lily Lorber says:

CLARIFICATION: the “Official” – is Sherwin Smith, a TEA BAG Republican of Tennessee’s Dept of Environment and Conservation’s Div. of Water Resources. No ignorant Republican Tea Bag who abuses his authority by threatening others speaks for our government. Sherwin Smith is merely a very sad commentary on the state of Tennessee.___ http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/06/22/sherwin-

You are wrong about this man being a teabagger. This is a communist, most likely has links to the Progressive, Liberal, Democratic, or whatever they call themselves today party. Democrats started the KKK after Republicans wanted to free slaves. Stop the Lies!!!
